Frequently asked questions

Can my old deck be repaired, or does it need replacing?

Many times older decks can be repaired! During a site visit, we'll evaluate the existing structure and talk through potential options. This might include upgrades to the existing structure to protect the investment of new aspects of your deck or porch.

How much does a new deck or screened porch cost?

A new deck typically start at $20,000 depending on size and material selection. These options and factors will be more thoroughly discussed during the site visit and project proposal phase.

Do I need a permit to build a deck in Forsyth County?

Yes, a permit is required before building any new structure in North Carolina. However, cosmetic changes like new decking boards, railings or pickets can be done without pulling a permit. A good rule of thumb for permits - if any load bearing elements (think joists or posts) are being changed, a permit is required.
